Why we settled on 240 GSM

Most tees in this price bracket sit between 180 and 200 GSM. We went heavier, and it changed how the whole piece falls.
The first samples came back at 180 GSM. They were fine. They were also identical to everything else on the shelf — thin enough to see the outline of whatever was underneath, light enough to cling in Indian humidity.
We moved to 240 GSM combed cotton and bio-washed it. The extra weight does three things: the shoulder holds its line instead of collapsing, the hem stops curling after a few washes, and the fabric drapes away from the body rather than sticking to it.
It costs more per unit and it takes longer to dry. We think that is the right trade. A tee you keep for three years is cheaper than three tees you replace.
